4th of July Blog Hop 7/4/012

Welcome to our 4th of July Blog Hop! What comes to mind, when you think of the 4th of July? Being with family, barbeques, picnics, and fireworks? That's what comes to my mind. But, few know the actual reason we are celebrating this holiday. We know it has something to do with America, the flag, and independence. On July 4, 1776, United States of America declared its independence from Britain. So today is America’s Birthday! Happy Birthday, America!
Today we have a lot of wonderful, talented women wanting to celebrate this holiday, with you. In case you get lost and want to start at the beginning, go to Pamela’s blog http://kraftykatstampstudio.blogspot.com

And we are giving away some really exciting 4th of July Candy! Kristy from Scraptastical Kreations offered to give one lucky winner a $15 Gift Certificate to her store! All you have to do is visit every blog in this hop and leave a comment.
If you arrived from Pamela's blog then you are on the right track.

For my project, I made a 2 page LO for my daughter Maddie's album.  Seeing how this was for personal use, I decided to go "old school" and did NOT use my Cameo or Cricut at all.  Instead, I busted out the scalloped scissors (which I was finally able to cut straight with!!), paper trimmer, my Sizzix and my pencil and Cutter Bee Scissors.
I tried something new here..... layering the papers more. It did not come out like I envisioned it in my head, but few things ever do! All in all, I am pretty happy with it and all the colors and patterns, hope you all like it too!
Now, I did not get the pics of Maddie done in time, so I am just going to show you which ones will be going on here.  These pics are back from 2011, yes, I know I am a little behind! lol

And now for my layout:

Oh, did you want some candy??? Well, I have some scrappy goodies for one lucky hopper who's a follower of my blog (and leaves me some love!) and also likes my fan page, CBC Scrapbooking and leaves me some love there too! Good luck! :)

Thanks for stopping by! Now I must send you to Nancy so you can see what fabulous project she has created for you today! .
Remember, to win the Grand Prize blog candy, $15 GC to Scraptastical Kreations,  you must visit every ladies blog and leave a comment.
Have a safe and wonderful 4th of July!

Happy Scrappin'
~Colleen
